Zamfara: Police free 15 kidnapped people

According to the Zamfara State Police Command, its agents have freed 15 kidnap victims who were held captive by assailants on the state’s Gusau-Tsafe route. 

The Command’s spokesman, SP Shehu Mohammed, revealed this to reporters on Thursday during a press conference and stated that the abduction victims had been taken on Monday.

“The kidnappers abandoned the victims considering the tension by the search and rescue operatives of the Command that as the team faced the bandits’ on fire for operation in their dens where the victims were rescued,” he said.

There were two toddlers, seven women, and six men among the victims who were saved. 

The victims were briefed by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kolo Yusuf, were examined by the police medical team, and will be returned to their families, according to the command’s spokesman.
