A Nigerian woman has shared an emotional reflection on marriage, family and how life can change the rules people once believed they would never compromise on.
In a post shared on X, @Deisine revealed that she and her husband had an agreement that visitors should not stay in their home for more than one week.
According to her, the arrangement also required anyone intending to visit to give prior notice before arriving.
However, life took an unexpected turn just 10 months after they made the agreement when her mother passed away.
Following her mother’s death, her husband opened their home to her younger siblings, who have now been living with them for more than three years.
Reflecting on the experience, she wrote:
“We sometimes say things due to lack of experience, it is when life present us with the real deal that we know who our people are.”
