Following the announcement of Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the Chairman Of The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu after the conclusion of the February 25th 2023 general election and the collation of electoral results, the former Governor of Lagos State was seen in a video, raising his right hand in jubilation and rejoicing with Key APC Chieftains.
Bola Tinubu was declared the winner after beating out presidential candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhahji Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi.
Even though Tinubu won in the same number of states as the others, 12, he received more votes, 8,794,726 to Atiku’s 6,984,520 and Obi’s 6,101,533 votes.
