The chicken has come home to roost. Tinubu is now in search of Igbo votes. The wind has blown, and his Northern friends have seen his ugly anterior and flown away in horror. Igbos are now the new target of manipulation. He was not good to his Northern friends, but he wants Igbos to believe he will be good to them.
I remember the hate directed at Igbos before, during, and after the 2023 elections. Where is the Eze Ndigbo of Lagos, charged and detained for nearly two years, for no greater offense than calling himself an Igbo man and declaring his right to protect himself and his people against unlawful violence? He was eventually cleared, after the case against him had already cost him two years of his life.
Are Igbos to forget the demolitions of Igbo property, or to believe that a Tinubu who faces no further challenge of re-election would suddenly find an empathy he never showed before? Let Madam start by paying compensation for the properties that the hate she inspired helped demolish.
I warned Northerners about Tinubu and his Ronú crowd long ago. Understand that they do not represent the Yoruba people. They only manipulate others into believing they are under attack from the rest of Nigeria, Igbos especially, inventing imaginary attacks and rivalries between Yorubas and Igbos where none existed. Many unwary people get caught in these manipulations.
Today, they are in search of the very Igbos they once called Nigeria’s only problem. Suddenly, the same Igbos have become good people.
Madam, Igbos already know they are good people. They do not need your affirmation. You are not in a position to affirm Igbos. Have you forgotten the gods of Yoruba land you once threatened to unleash on Igbos? Go back and tell those gods that Igbos are still alive and kicking, by the grace of Almighty God.
