A Nigerian lady has shared her disappointment after lending a friend ₦15,000 out of compassion, only to later discover him living lavishly.
The lady, identified as @Deseiye on X (formerly Twitter), explained that her friend had claimed he hadn’t eaten all day, prompting her to send him the money to assist.
However, just two weeks later, she reportedly saw him at a lounge spending freely and popping bottles, leaving her feeling used.
Although she chose not to confront him, the experience changed her perspective on helping others.
According to her:
“Sometimes, people don’t lie because they’re broke. They lie because they know your heart is soft. Since then, I still help people, but now I do so with my eyes wide open.”
Her story has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users emphasizing the importance of balancing kindness with caution.
