A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions on social media after narrating an uncomfortable experience she had at a restaurant when her card was declined during payment.
The story, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @freakin_snow, detailed how what began as a normal outing quickly turned embarrassing after she was unable to complete payment at the point of sale.
According to her, the situation immediately drew attention from people around her.
“The attendant and some ladies started looking at me somehow. One woman even said, ‘That’s how they go around disgracing themselves, jobless girls looking for men to pay their bills,” she wrote.
She explained that a man who witnessed the incident later stepped in to settle the bill, but the situation took another uncomfortable turn shortly after.
After paying, the man reportedly asked for her number, which she declined because she is in a relationship.
“He asked for my number and I told him I was in a relationship. He flipped and started asking why I didn’t call my boyfriend to help me out. He started calling me names,” she added.
The lady said the confrontation made her feel overwhelmed, forcing her to leave the restaurant immediately. She also stated that she has no intention of returning there again.
Her post quickly gained traction, with many users reacting to the incident and sharing their opinions.
One user simply wrote, “That’s so embarrassing. Gosh😭.”
Another commented, “Just because he paid 50k? He shouldn’t have acted like that.”
