Man Calls Off Wedding After Fiancée Refuses to Return ₦3 Million Gift From Ex-Boyfriend

A Nigerian lady has sparked debate online after revealing why a man reportedly called off his wedding plans following a disagreement with his fiancée over money she received from an ex-boyfriend.

According to the lady, identified as @Toniatuslim on X, the woman received a ₦3 million credit alert from her former boyfriend, who currently resides abroad.

After discovering the transaction, the groom-to-be reportedly confronted his fiancée and sought an explanation regarding the unexpected gift.

The woman explained that the money was simply a gift from her ex-boyfriend and insisted there was nothing inappropriate about accepting it, noting that she had not seen him in years.

However, the situation escalated when the man allegedly instructed her to return the money and block all communication with her ex. The woman refused, maintaining that the gift was harmless and that there was no ongoing relationship between them.

According to the viral account:

“The man ordered her to send the money back and also asked her to block the ex-boyfriend, but the lady refused. She said it was just a gift and besides, the ex is not in the country and she has not seen him in years.”

Her refusal reportedly prompted the man to call off the wedding, triggering widespread reactions across social media.
