Real Madrid beats Chelsea 2-0 at the Stamford bridge to qualify for the UCL semifinals

Rodrygo Goes netted a second-half double to lead Real Madrid to a well-earned victory away at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos secured qualification to the Champions League semi-finals after beating Chelsea 4-0 on aggregate.

Chelsea got off to a solid start, with N’Golo Kante sending his low strike just wide of Thibaut Courtois’ right post.

Real Madrid reacted but they were unlucky, as Rodrygo Goes saw his shot hit the post 21 minutes into the first half.

Vinicius Junior failed to hit the target after a sharp Dani Carvajal cross and Karim Benzema couldn’t hit the target on the counter before the break.

Chelsea squandered a huge opportunity to open the scoring one minute into the first half’s stoppage time, when an unmarked Marc Cucurella failed to beat Courtois from close distance.

Kante’s shot was blocked before Enzo Fernandez sent his strike wide of the left post before the hour mark and Real Madrid punished the hosts, with Rodrygo scoring on the counter in the 58th minute.

The Brazilian star completed his brace with 10 minutes to put the tie to bed and seal qualification to the semi-finals of the competition.

There they will face the winners of the duel between Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
