Psychiatric Patient’s Handwritten Love Note to Nurse Sparks Reactions Online

A Nigerian nurse working in a psychiatric ward has sparked conversations online after sharing a handwritten note she received from one of her patients.

The nurse posted the letter on her social media page, capturing attention with its unusual yet deeply expressive content. Many who came across it found themselves intrigued by the patient’s thoughts, with some saying the message felt poetic and unexpectedly relatable.

According to the nurse, the note stood out not just because it came from a psychiatric patient, but because of how it conveyed emotion, affection, and self-reflection in a unique way.

She also used the opportunity to engage others, asking:

Do you have any experience with your patient?? Would like to hear.”

The handwritten note read:

Mariam, catch my attention with the face.

Love is wicked, brick and lace.

Morning medication, imma get it with grace.

Bad boy need love like we out in space,

She charms like an angel.

Notice her when she in here.

Hopefully I learn my lesson.”
