“Prices dey change every minute” — Man laments constant hike in food and cooking gas costs

A Nigerian man has gone viral after expressing deep frustration over the rapid increase in the prices of cooking gas and essential food items, saying the situation has become overwhelming for ordinary citizens already battling economic hardship.

In a video circulating on social media, the visibly angry man said prices now change within hours, making it difficult for people to plan or budget for basic needs.

He explained that he had checked the price of cooking gas earlier, only to return a few hours later and discover another increase.

According to him:

“Last three hours gas was N1450 per kg. I wan buy now dem say they just call them now say gas don increase to N1550. By tomorrow e fit don enter N1600.”

He also pushed back against what he described as pressure on citizens to stay silent despite worsening living conditions:

“And they say make we no shout, make we no talk.”

The video has since gained traction online, with many Nigerians saying they are experiencing similar daily or weekly price changes across markets, transportation, and household essentials.
