A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing details of her encounter with a man based in Abuja and the surprising message he later sent her.
The lady, identified as @4lasade on X, narrated how their first meeting took an unexpected turn after she asked about his bride price.
According to her, the man immediately called his mother during their conversation, and she personally informed the lady that the bride price was ₦2 million.
“This man said okay. Next thing? He called his mum. I thought it was cruise. It was not. His mum actually spoke to me and said ₦2 million,” she wrote.
Things became even more surprising after the man later sent her a WhatsApp message explaining his family situation.
In the message, he revealed that he already has two daughters who currently live away from him because of their mother’s work.
He also advised the lady to block him, adding that meeting her was an honour and that he did not want to become one of the men who take advantage of women.
“It was an honour meeting you, I don’t want to join crew of men that take advantage of anyone. But, whatever it maybe, I will take it with good faith,” the message read.
The story has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating the bride price, the man’s honesty, and his unusual approach during the encounter.
