A woman has recounted a traumatic experience from her childhood, revealing how her family’s separation nearly resulted in tragedy after her father allegedly removed his children from his health insurance plan without informing their mother.
According to her account, the incident happened shortly after her parents separated and her mother relocated with the children to another part of the country in search of stability.
The situation took a frightening turn when one of the children suddenly began convulsing. With little money available and believing the children were still covered under their father’s health insurance, their mother rushed the child to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
However, upon arrival, she was reportedly informed that none of the children were registered beneficiaries under the insurance scheme.
“She had carried my sister there with the last money she had. That was when she was told our names had been removed,” the woman recalled.
Unable to pay for treatment and with no immediate alternatives, the mother reportedly left the hospital carrying her convulsing daughter on her back.
The woman said her mother trekked home in distress, unsure whether her child would survive the ordeal.
“She walked all the way back with my sister still shaking on her back. Somewhere along the way, my sister stopped convulsing and woke up. My sister survived and remains alive today,” she said.
