Man raises alarm after mysterious ₦4.8 million credit, fears possible scam

A Nigerian man has sparked concern online after revealing that he received an unexpected credit alert of ₦4.8 million from an unknown source, followed by a suspicious request for a refund.

The man, identified as @biggestposh on social media, explained that the money was deposited into his account early in the morning. Shortly after, he received a call from a private number, with the caller claiming the transfer was made in error and asking for an immediate refund.

Things took a worrying turn when the account details provided for the refund did not match the name of the original sender, reportedly “Noah Kechi Okafor.” This inconsistency raised red flags about a potential scam or fraudulent setup.

According to him, the caller has continued to apply pressure through repeated calls but has been unable to provide the correct originating account details when asked.

The man noted that he has not touched the money and is now seeking advice, as many online users warn against rushing into refunds in situations involving unknown transfers and mismatched account information.
