Lady Heartbroken After Travelling 10 Hours From Lagos to Meet Snapchat Lover

A Nigerian lady identified as @NomzyRN on TikTok has shared her disappointment after travelling from Lagos to Abia State to meet a man she had been talking to online, only to discover that he was not exactly who she expected.

According to her, she embarked on a 10-hour road trip to finally meet the man she met on Snapchat. However, upon arriving, she claimed she realised she had been “catfished.”

The lady alleged that the man had a missing front tooth and was living with his sisters, details she said she was not aware of before making the trip.

Expressing her frustration, she lamented the risk she took by travelling such a long distance amid security concerns on Nigerian roads.

In the caption of her video, she wrote:

“POV: you took a 10 hours bus from Lagos to Abia to go and finally meet the guy you met on snap. I’ve been catfished guys, he’s even living with his sisters and he has no front tooth. After risking my life with the current bandit situation.”

The video quickly gained attention on TikTok, with many social media users sharing mixed opinions about the situation. While some sympathised with her disappointment, others argued that a person’s current circumstances should not be the sole basis for judging them.

“Doesn’t mean he will remain at this level forever. Look out if he has potential and prospects and take a decision. How old is he? What are his prospects and dreams? Many who are big boys today lived with their friends, brothers or sisters before making it in life.”

@switspicey:

“Na why I dey always beg for money first.”

@Everyhome essentials by tee:

“Are you sure it’s his sister or bro is partially married?”

@lizzyblessing03:

“Have u blocked it?”

The incident has sparked conversations online about expectations in online relationships, the importance of honesty before meeting in person, and the risks associated with travelling long distances to meet internet acquaintances for the first time.
