Gunmen assassinate a Nigerian comedian in Ibadan

One person was injured when gunmen attacked a government aide in Bauchi, according to police.

Unknown gunmen assassinated a popular Ibadan-based comedian, Mimic King, and carted away his belongings.

Lafup, the deceased’s senior colleague, broke the heartbreaking news on social media, stating that King was killed on Saturday.

Mimic King, he said, was a promising young man whose life was cut short by the menace of bike robbery in Ibadan.

“It’s heartbreaking to learn that a promising young comic was shot in Ibadan after being robbed. The threat of fatal bike robberies in Ibadan is now very concerning; I hope the authorities can put an end to it. I pray for his family’s strength to bear such loss. “RIP @mimic king official,” he captioned the late comedian’s photo.

Mimic King’s death comes just a few days after the death of Anambra-based Nigerian singer and songwriter Slami Ifeanyi.

The afro-pop singer was shot dead on Sunday morning by unknown assailants.

The 31-year-old former Mr Anambra Universe was reportedly driving alone in his newly purchased Lexus 330 when he was attacked and killed in Umubere, Awka, Anambra State.
