Alleged Moniepoint Salary Offer Sparks Debate Over “Global Talent” Claims

An alleged salary offer document linked to Moniepoint has surfaced online, triggering widespread discussion on social media amid recent remarks by its CEO about attracting global-standard talent.

The document was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @unkleAyo, who claimed it represents a Quality Assurance (QA) role package within the company.

According to the post, the role reportedly offers an annual salary of about ₦1.9 million, a figure that quickly drew criticism and debate online. The user broke it down further, estimating it at roughly $1,300 per year or about $115 monthly, questioning how such compensation aligns with expectations for globally competitive talent.

“This is currently circulated as what Moniepoint offers for a Quality Assurance role. ₦1.9M per year,” the user wrote.

The alleged offer letter also outlined standard working conditions, including hours from 8am to 5pm, with the possibility of additional hours depending on workload. It stated that overtime may not attract extra pay unless approved at the company’s discretion.

Other reported terms included expectations of full attention to duties, participation in meetings, and adherence to internal company policies.

The base compensation was listed at approximately ₦1,894,736 annually, subject to deductions. It also reportedly included a performance bonus ranging from 0% to 50% of base salary, depending on evaluation outcomes.

The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many users questioning whether such a pay structure aligns with the ambition of companies positioning themselves as global competitors, especially in the context of recent comments about talent standards in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
