Nigerian Mother Raises Alarm Over Alleged Threats After Questioning Child’s School Book Content

A Nigerian mother has taken to social media in distress, alleging that her safety is at risk after she publicly raised concerns about content found in her child’s school book.

According to her, the ordeal began after she posted a video online questioning whether certain passages in the educational material were suitable for young children.

Speaking emotionally, she said:

Good day Nigerians, I think at this point my life is being threatened. People around me are being picked up and questioned because of the video I made about this book. I only shared my opinion because of my children.”

The mother explained that she found a particular section of the book troubling and felt compelled to voice her concerns as a parent.

After the video gained widespread attention, she claimed she began receiving threatening calls and was allegedly pressured by unknown individuals to remove her post.

“I only asked if this is what children are reading now, and if it is, it doesn’t sit well with me. I took down the post because I don’t want issues, but they are still threatening me. Parents, please come to my aid.”

Her allegations have since generated intense reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over both the educational content and the reported intimidation.

Some social media users backed her decision to speak out, stressing the need for parents to monitor school materials more closely, while others called for immediate intervention to ensure her safety.

Social Media Reactions

“If the content truly isn’t appropriate, then parents have every right to question it. Threatening her only makes things look suspicious.”

“This is why many parents must start reviewing school books themselves instead of assuming everything approved is safe.”

“No mother should be intimidated for protecting her child. Her concerns deserve answers, not fear.”

“Whether people agree with her or not, using threats is completely unacceptable.”

“Schools and publishers should be transparent about what is being taught to children.”

“This is alarming. If she simply shared an opinion, why would anyone go this far?”

“Parents must remain vigilant. The education system should never silence genuine concerns.”

“If this allegation is true, authorities need to step in immediately.”

“Her safety should come first. Freedom of speech should not come with threats.”

“This situation highlights how sensitive educational content has become in society today.”

“People should focus on addressing the issue she raised instead of attacking her personally.”

“Every responsible parent would question materials they believe may negatively influence their children.”

“The fear of speaking up is dangerous. Parents deserve to ask questions.”

“This is bigger than one mother—it’s about protecting children and ensuring accountability.”

“Silencing parents will only create more distrust in the educational system.”

The incident has reignited broader conversations about parental involvement in education, content transparency in schools, and the importance of safeguarding citizens’ rights to express concerns without fear of harassment or intimidation.
