Tension has erupted in a Nigerian community after a man reportedly forced his wife and her three children out of their home late at night following DNA test results which allegedly revealed that the children were not biologically his.
The disturbing incident, said to have occurred recently, has generated widespread condemnation online, with many Nigerians expressing anger over both the timing and manner of the eviction.
According to eyewitness accounts circulating on social media, the woman and her children were left stranded outside during the night, sparking serious concerns about their safety and wellbeing.
Reacting to the incident, a concerned woman strongly criticised the husband’s actions, warning that such a move could have serious legal consequences.
“How do you send a woman and her three kids out at night just because a DNA test says they’re not yours? If you’re married under the Act, that’s a crime. Forceful eviction of your spouse can land you in serious trouble—you could even face jail time.”
She stressed that regardless of the emotional devastation caused by the DNA results, legal procedures must be followed.
“Yes, the DNA result is painful. But the right step is legal—file for divorce and seek compensation if necessary. Throwing them out at night is unlawful and dangerous. If anything happens to them, you’ll be held responsible.”
The incident has once again reignited conversations across Nigeria about paternity fraud, marital rights, and the importance of resolving domestic disputes through lawful and humane means rather than impulsive actions.
As DNA-related controversies continue to surface, many are calling for greater awareness of both family law and the emotional consequences such revelations can have on everyone involved.
