Zamfara PDP postpones the launch of its campaign due to the death of a chieftain

Following the death of one of its chieftains in the state, the Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has postponed the launch of its campaign.

The postponement was unavoidable, according to the state party chairman, Hon. Mukhtar Lugga, who stated that preparations for the burial had been completed as of the time of filing this report.

“We can not abandon the person that has contributed in no small way for the development of the party in the state,” he said.

Lugga asked party supporters to accept the irreparable loss with fortitude, stressing that another convenient time for the campaign’s launch would be arranged.

According to him, the party still hopes to establish the state’s next government, but it needs the backing of the electorate to make that happen.

He, however, urged the party’s throngs of supporters to obey the law so that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, would not hold them accountable.
