Protesters storm the INEC office in Port Harcourt with a native doctor (Video)

On Tuesday, 4th of April, a group of protesters led by a native doctor stormed the Rivers State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Port Harcourt.

Protesters from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) surrounded the office’s main entrance, allegedly holding a charms pot and palm branches.

It was the second day of a sustained protest at the INEC office hosting the 2023 gubernatorial election, demanding a combined examination of election materials.

Tonye Cole, an APC governor candidate, was allegedly assaulted by PDP supporters on Monday and prevented from entering the election umpire’s office, where he was scheduled to meet with commission representatives.

The herbalist assisted Samuel Nwanosike, the chairman of the Ikwerre local government, as he performed incantations.
