Pele appreciates fans as “Get Well Soon” is played on the Qatar building

The football legend’s daughter sought to reassure fans and counter media reports that doctors were concerned about his health earlier this week.

The Brazilian football legend announced his “monthly visit” and shared a photo of a building in Qatar illuminated with his image and the words “Get Well Soon”

“It’s always nice to receive positive messages like this,” he posted on Instagram.

“Thanks to Qatar for this tribute, and to everyone who sends me good vibes.”

He ended the post with a praying hands emoji, and the post received over 240,000 likes in the first two hours.

This week, Pele’s daughter attempted to reassure fans by stating that his admission was not an emergency and that there was no “new dire prediction”

She stated that he was admitted so that doctors could adjust his medication after some Brazilian media reported that his condition had worsened.

The 82-year-old had a tumor removed from his colon in September 2021 and has since been in and out of the hospital on a regular basis for treatment.

Pele is widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time and a sporting icon.

He was a member of Brazil’s legendary 1970 World Cup-winning squad and is the country’s leading international scorer with 77 goals in 92 games.
