A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing her shocking encounter with an alleged phone thief during a tricycle ride.
The lady, identified as @Toniaslumi on X (formerly Twitter), recounted how the incident happened just minutes after boarding the tricycle.
According to her, barely two minutes into the journey, a male passenger seated behind her suddenly raised his voice and instructed the tricycle rider to stop immediately so he could get down.
His sudden urgency reportedly raised suspicion.
Moments later, the lady realized her phone had disappeared. Acting quickly, she immediately grabbed the man’s arm as he attempted to cross the road after alighting.
In a dramatic turn of events, the suspect reportedly reached into his pocket, brought out her missing phone, and apologized on the spot.
The story has since gone viral, with many social media users praising her alertness and bravery while also warning commuters to stay vigilant, especially in crowded public transport.
