Lady Sparks Reactions After Bride Sells ₦1.2 Million Washing Machine Gift to Buy Human Hair

A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after sharing the surprising first wedding gift her male friend bought for his wife.

The lady, identified as @Miss-Oluremi on X (formerly Twitter), explained that her friend consulted her before purchasing the gift for his wife.

According to her, she suggested several thoughtful options, but the man eventually settled for a washing machine reportedly worth ₦1.2 million.

She further disclosed that she advised him to buy something more personal for his wife instead of a household appliance, but he ignored the suggestion and presented the expensive washing machine as a wedding gift.

However, things took an unexpected turn after the wife allegedly sold the washing machine and used the proceeds to buy raw donor human hair.

Sharing the story online, she wrote:

“He bought a washing machine worth 1.2m and presented it to her. She did not even argue with him. She sold the machine and used the money to buy a raw donor hair.”

The post has since generated heated debates online, with many social media users divided over whether a washing machine qualifies as a romantic wedding gift.
