A man has shared how what was supposed to be a normal cleaning day in his home turned into an uncomfortable and emotional situation after his house cleaner brought along her 16-year-old daughter to assist for the first time.
According to his account, the incident happened shortly after he returned from a trip. He had left over ₦30,000 in his bedroom before traveling, but discovered the money was missing upon his return. This immediately raised suspicion about who had access to the room.
When questioned, the teenage girl initially denied knowing anything about the missing money. However, the situation took a turn when the man mentioned that he had a camera in the room and intended to review the footage.
At that point, the girl reportedly broke down in tears, confessed to taking the money, apologised, and retrieved it from where she had hidden it in her clothes.
The man noted that the girl’s mother had been working with him for over a year without any prior issues, making the incident even more troubling for him.
“Her mum has been working for me for over a year and I’ve never had any problem with her. She has been crying and begging since it happened, and honestly I feel bad, but I can’t continue with her anymore. This will be the last time she works in my house,” he said.
The story has sparked mixed reactions online, with many people debating whether the decision to dismiss the woman was justified or too harsh, especially considering her previously clean record.
