A pharmacy student at the University of Ibadan (UI) has gone viral on social media, not only because of his accomplishments but also because of his unusual and distinctive name.
The 400-level student, who also works as a mixologist, recently took home two awards from his department’s event: Best Dressed (Male, 400 Level) and Socialite of the Year.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he proudly displayed his awards and his full name, “Will John Flourish,” in celebration of his victories.
Accompanying the post, he wrote: “What a nightt🖤💯.”
His tweet quickly went viral, amassing over 856k views, 500+ likes, and more than a hundred comments. While many congratulated him, others were more fascinated by his name, sparking discussions online.
Some online users joked that his name felt unfinished without a question mark, while others recommended that he reword his entire name to create a positive affirmation.
Despite the buzz, Will John Flourish appeared unbothered, responding playfully to the comments and embracing the attention his name had drawn.
