Alexx Ekubo, a popular Nollywood actor, recently came under fire on social media for what appeared to be a harmless joke.
On Friday, ahead of Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections, the actor took to Instagram to share a hilarious video of a man demonstrating his flexibility, and in his caption, he made reference to colleague Chioma Akpotha’s ordeal during the presidential election in February.
You may recall that Chioma Akpotha cried out online during the presidential election on February 25, 2023, after she and other voters were attacked by thugs at their polling unit. ICYMI.
Sharing the funny video, Alexx stated that that’s how he’s preparing to defend Jandor/Funke Akindele’s votes in Lagos on Saturday. He then made fun of Chioma’s reaction to the attack on her polling unit during the presidential election.
“Nobody. Me: prepping to count & protect #JandorFunke votes tomorrow. @chiomakpotha come & see how to defend votes here no be to put hand for face dey shout I was attacked, I can’t beeleeve this”, he captioned the post.
While Chioma simply laughed off Alexx Ekubo’s comment and referred to him as a “native goat,” some netizens who didn’t find the statement amusing lambasted him over the post.
