The NJC recommends Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has been recommended by the National Judicial Council to become the next Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The suggestion was made during an impromptu closed-door meeting that was moved from Friday to Thursday in Abuja.

In the still-going meeting, the NJC also recommended 27 other people to be state high court judges.

On August 22, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the outgoing Chief Justice of the Nigeria, will officially retire from the bench at the age of 70.
