#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest only in Ijebu-Ode – Ogun NSCDC Commandant

There have not been any reports of protests in the state, according to David Ojelabi, the commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ogun State.

He added that there were only roughly twenty demonstrators who, according to reports, peacefully demonstrated along Ibadan Road.

Speaking to reporters at the MKO Abiola International, the protesters’ court-designated location in Abeokuta, Ojelabi made this statement.

“We have toured the Abeokuta metropolis, and everything is quiet. Even stores that were not open before are now opening for business,” the commandant declared.

“The other two senatorial districts, Ogun West and Ogun East, have also reported to us that everything is peaceful except for Ijebu-Ode, where about 20 people were reportedly peacefully protesting.

Therefore, we ask that people carry on with their regular activities since security personnel are on the scene making sure that everyone is safe and secure.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Police, Abiodun Alamutu, also said that every part of the state is peaceful.

Alamutu, however, asserted that demonstrators are free to hold their nonviolent demonstrations in state-designated locations.

“There is no cause for alarm; everything is in order,” he declared. “Everything is calm, and you can see the presence of the security agencies on the ground. We are all working hand in hand to provide security for everyone.”
