A man has shared an encounter from a dinner date that left a lasting impression on him after a disagreement arose over who should settle the restaurant bill.
According to the man, he had invited a lady out for dinner and expected to cover the cost of the outing. However, events took an unexpected turn after the meal.
He explained that the bill came to about ₦85,000. While he briefly stepped away to the restroom, the woman reportedly approached a waitress and began making arrangements to pay for the food.
The man said he was surprised when he overheard her informing the waitress of her intention to settle the bill.
As the situation unfolded, both parties insisted on paying.
Recalling the exchange, he said the woman questioned his objections and maintained that she was capable of paying for the meal.
“Why? I have money too.”
He responded that he was the one who invited her, but she reportedly replied:
“And so what?”
According to him, the waitress appeared uncertain as both individuals continued insisting on paying. The moment became even more memorable when the waitress sought confirmation from the woman.
“Madam, na you wan pay?”
The lady reportedly answered, “Yes.”
Despite her insistence, the man eventually paid the bill.
