A man has shared the shocking circumstances that allegedly led his brother to end a long-term relationship just as marriage preparations were underway.
According to the narrator, the incident happened about three years ago when his brother visited his fiancée’s family home to collect the traditional bride price list ahead of their planned wedding.
On getting there, he reportedly met only the fiancée’s father, as her mother was away. The father allegedly explained that, according to their family tradition, both parents had to be present for such an important discussion whenever they were both alive.
The visitors reportedly waited for about three hours, during which the prospective groom became increasingly frustrated because he had other business engagements and was receiving repeated calls from his associates.
When the mother eventually returned, the father allegedly questioned where she had been and reminded her that visitors were expected that day. However, the narrator claimed she remained silent while her phone kept ringing.
The situation reportedly escalated after the father asked her to answer one of the calls. The caller was allegedly a man she had spent the previous night with, leading to a heated argument in front of the visitors.
The narrator said his brother was even more shocked when his fiancée allegedly sided with her mother during the confrontation instead of trying to calm the situation.
Feeling disappointed by what had happened, the man reportedly ended the relationship shortly afterward, blocked his fiancée and cut off communication with her family.
The story has since generated mixed reactions online, with many people debating whether the alleged actions of the fiancée’s mother should have influenced the couple’s relationship.
