A pastor has sparked widespread outrage on social media after a video surfaced showing him telling his church members that God instructed him to make them multimillionaires—on the condition that they sow $10,000 within 90 seconds.
The incident, captured in a viral clip now circulating across social media platforms, has reignited debate over alleged financial exploitation in some religious spaces.
In the video, the pastor, who was seen wearing a Louis Vuitton suit, addressed the congregation, saying:
“God said I want to make a multi-millionaire but they have to sow $10,000 within 90 seconds. I wish it was me because I got it. Money doesn’t have me, at all.”
His remarks immediately triggered backlash online, with many viewers questioning both the message and the pressure placed on worshippers to give such a large sum within a short time frame.
As the video gained traction, many Nigerians accused the pastor of manipulating faith to coerce members into parting with money. Critics described the demand as insensitive and exploitative, particularly amid the prevailing economic hardship affecting many families across the country.
The controversy has once again fueled conversations about accountability, ethics, and financial practices within religious institutions.
