Woman Shares How ‘Money Bouquet’ Demand Allegedly Ended Neighbour’s Relationship

A woman has taken to social media platform X to recount how her neighbour’s relationship reportedly collapsed after a disagreement over monthly financial support spiralled into an unusual demand for an apology.

According to the post, the couple had a serious argument a few days earlier, which was later revealed to be centred on money.

The boyfriend allegedly claimed he spends between ₦100,000 and ₦150,000 monthly on his girlfriend, but insisted it was never appreciated or enough.

The neighbour, who shared the story, expressed surprise at the level of spending, questioning how such an amount could be sustained amid current economic pressures for a relationship that has not yet led to marriage.

Following the disagreement, she reportedly asked the girlfriend how she managed to exhaust such funds within a month.

The girlfriend attributed her expenses to skincare, hair maintenance, and food, although the observer noted that the visible results did not seem to reflect the claimed spending.

Tensions escalated further when, according to the account, the girlfriend insisted she would not continue the relationship unless her boyfriend apologised with a “money bouquet” and roses.

The situation reportedly took a dramatic turn the following night when the girlfriend allegedly called the neighbour in tears, revealing that her boyfriend had retrieved the iPhone he previously gifted her and declared the relationship over.

She reportedly admitted that her demand for a money bouquet apology contributed to the breakup.

Reacting to the development, the neighbour said she was unable to offer any solution, describing the situation as “out of this world.”

The story has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users debating expectations in relationships, financial pressure, and whether extravagant gestures should determine reconciliation after disagreements.
