Woman Says Mother, Sister Turned Against Her After Husband’s Death Over Property Dispute

A Nigerian woman has stirred emotions online after opening up about an alleged betrayal by her mother and sister following the death of her husband.

According to her, her husband died in an accident five months ago, and what should have been a period of mourning soon turned into a painful family conflict centered around his properties.

The woman revealed that she was already pregnant before meeting her late husband, a fact he knew and accepted. Together, they later had two more children during their marriage.

She claimed the crisis began when her mother suggested selling one of her late husband’s properties to raise money for her sister’s relocation abroad.

“My mom told me we should sell my husband’s house so I can use the money to sponsor my sister abroad. I told her it was not possible because my husband just died,” she recounted.

According to her, her refusal allegedly angered both her mother and sister, who then reported her to her late husband’s family. She said they accused her of hiding the fact that her first child was not biologically her husband’s and even insinuated she had a hand in his death.

However, she stated that her in-laws dismissed the allegations, noting that her late husband had already informed them about her situation and had instructed them to look after her and the children if anything happened to him.

The woman said her mother and sister have since apologized and pleaded for forgiveness, claiming they acted out of anger and frustration.

Despite their apologies, she admitted she remains conflicted about whether to forgive them fully or maintain her distance, saying the betrayal has left deep emotional scars.
