A Nigerian lady has shared a touching experience she had with an Uber driver, a story that has since gone viral on X and sparked emotional reactions online.
In her post, @Oluebubewrites recounted that an initially quiet and awkward ride took a different turn halfway through the trip when the driver received a phone call from his daughter. The child reportedly told him that food had finished at home.
According to her, the driver paused for a few seconds before responding softly, saying, “I’ll bring something.” Immediately after ending the call, she noticed him quickly wipe his face.
She later observed an empty pack of cabin biscuits and a sachet water beside him, suggesting he had been managing very little while working.
When they arrived at her destination, she decided to tip him ₦20,000. His reaction, she said, was deeply emotional and difficult to forget.
“You know that look people give when life has humbled them too much to even express gratitude properly? That look broke me,” she wrote, adding that many people are struggling due to the harsh economic situation.
