A lady has stirred reactions online after narrating how she gathered the courage to confess her feelings to a male friend, only to be turned down because of her body type.
Sharing her experience on social media platform X on Thursday, she explained that the incident happened while they were both in school, where they shared a very close friendship. According to her, they were always together—attending classes, completing assignments, and even spending leisure time watching movies—so much that coursemates often assumed they were already a couple.
She said the level of closeness eventually gave her the confidence to express her feelings, especially since the guy was single and they had no visible romantic barriers between them.
After a movie night where they watched a romantic film, she decided to make her move.
“We just finished an Indian film where the guy confessed love, so I said, ‘So… us?’ The shock on his face,” she recounted.
However, she said the response she got was not what she expected. The young man reportedly told her she was a good person but that he preferred women with “big yansh,” adding that she did not fit his preference.
“I didn’t even know how I got back to my hostel,” she added.
The post has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online, with users debating honesty in rejection, physical attraction standards, and the emotional risks of confessing feelings within close friendships.
