A Nigerian man has stirred widespread conversation on social media after sharing a deeply personal account of a colleague’s troubled marriage, drawing attention to issues of intimacy, communication, and compatibility in relationships.
In a post that has since gone viral, the man recounted the experience of his colleague, who has been married for six years and resides in Uyo with his wife and their two children.
According to him, the colleague is currently battling frustration due to a persistent lack of physical intimacy in the marriage. He described his wife as having an extremely low libido — a situation that, he claimed, has remained unchanged since the early days of their union.
Despite repeated attempts to initiate intimacy, the husband reportedly receives little to no response from his wife. The situation, he added, has escalated to a point where the wife allegedly advised her husband to satisfy himself if he feels the need, stating clearly that she does not share the same level of desire.
This response, the man noted, has left his colleague feeling rejected, emotionally distant, and increasingly unsettled about the state of his marriage. He further revealed that the ongoing issue is beginning to affect how the husband views the relationship, with doubts and suspicions emerging about possible underlying problems.
The revelation has triggered mixed reactions online, with many social media users emphasizing the importance of compatibility — particularly sexual and emotional — before entering into marriage.
Adding another layer to the discussion, the man disclosed that the couple did not date prior to getting married. Instead, their union was reportedly based on the guidance of a pastor who claimed to have received a vision about their relationship.
This detail has further fueled debate, with some questioning the influence of external opinions in major life decisions such as marriage, while others stress the risks of committing without fully understanding a partner’s values, expectations, and personal needs.
