A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after sharing her experience of borrowing ₦800,000 from her uncle to start a business.
According to her, there was no written agreement when she collected the money. Unfortunately, the business struggled for eight months before eventually collapsing, wiping out both the investment and her uncle’s trust.
Narrating the emotional moment she broke the news to him, she wrote:
“I went to tell him in person. Sat in front of him like a child. He looked at me for a long time, then said: ‘How much do you need to try again?’ I couldn’t speak. He gave me another ₦200,000. Said, ‘Pay me back when you can. Just don’t quit.’”
However, the story later took an unexpected turn after she allegedly approached him again for financial help, prompting her uncle to involve security operatives.
Reactions Trailing Below…
Stockman: “You have not been a good niece to your uncle. You mismanaged the first ₦800k. He gave you another ₦200k and you squandered that too. Then you came back a third time. What exactly did you expect?”
Lucy: “Once the cops leave, go back again. The goal is to keep trying till you succeed. Don’t give up.” 😂
Don Sapzy: “Another motivation again. Maybe the cops would reset your brain. Audacity is crying beside you. So you carried your uncle’s ₦1 million chop life. Hushpuppi sister.”
Chukwuebuka: “Your uncle is a good man. This kind of audacity deserves DSS.”
“₦800k disappeared, uncle still gave ₦200k. You still came back? Na confidence be this.”
“The first ₦800k was faith. The ₦200k was grace. The third request was temptation.”
“Some people have rich uncles, some of us have motivational quotes.”
“Trust is harder to rebuild than a failed business.”
“This is why many family members are afraid to fund businesses.”
“At this point, the police came to recover common sense.” 😂
