Grandmother arrested for burning granddaughter’s hands after she ate Indomie

A grandmother in Benin City was arrested after punishing her granddaughter for eating Indomie noodles without permission by burning her hands.

The child allegedly ate the noodles against her grandmother’s wishes because she was hungry.

The grandmother responded by setting the girl’s hands on a gas stove, which resulted in serious burns.

The case was reported to the Ministry of Women Affairs in Edo State by a witness.

The child was taken to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for treatment after the Ministry stepped in and arrested the grandmother.
