A Nigerian man, whose elder brother only offered ₦75,000 when his kidnappers demanded ₦50 million in ransom, has described his terrifying experience in a kidnapers’ den.
This was disclosed by him in a post that was shared on X, the former name for Twitter.
rHe claimed that he believed he was doomed the instant his brother made the offer and that he suspected his brother harbored personal animosity toward him.
He wrote: “When I was kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded ₦50 million as ransom, but my brother negotiated to pay ₦75,000 instead. That was the moment I thought I was a dead man. Because why 75K? I was thinking my brother had beef with me and wanted to use the opportunity… 75K fa!”
Explaining his brother’s decision, he added: “He said it was a strategy to get them to lower the price… at the expense of the beatings and torture I received because of that.”
The post sparked reactions online, with many sharing their thoughts in the comment section.

@dev_abba: “Sorry for the horrific experience. May Allah protect us all from such. But one question, did his negotiation really brought down the ransom drastically.”
@chef_emem: “I just remembered you’re yet to finish the story 😩, sorry about your horrible experience.”
@SandraAdaeze4: “Coming back to this, why did he say 75k not even 100k but 75k from 50m.”
@Farouk_Mokwa: “I am so sorry but this is funny 🤣🤣 Walahi, I go reason more than you do, Kai 75k from what they demanded?”
@TellEm_itsOTG: “Wetin be this?? 😂😂😂 After dem release u, u suppose first use police carry that ur bro make he sleep cell for like 2-3 days.”
@Malbuild: “Laughable, but that was a big risk. Such a person shouldn’t be allowed to handle delicate matters anymore because that could have cost you your life. If he hadn’t met those men in a good mood, the outcome could have been much worse.”
