The Enugu State government has come under fire from a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member for providing corps members with a pitiful ₦892 monthly allowance.
Expressing his frustration, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his concerns, questioning the rationale behind such a meager payment.
Some commenters expressed shock at the amount, while others pointed out that certain states do not even provide any additional stipend beyond the federal government’s ₦33,000 allowance. The issue reignited debates about the financial struggles corps members face and the need for state governments to offer better support.
