Man alerts NAFDAC, exposes woman selling fake drinks in his area for 10 years

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, or NAFDAC, has received a letter from a Nigerian man accusing a woman of selling counterfeit beverages in his neighborhood for more than a decade.

He also vowed to provide full details to the agency to aid her arrest.

The revelation was made in a post shared on his page via the popular social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter.

In the post, the man directly tagged NAFDAC’s official account and alleged that the woman has been arrested several times by the police but always manages to regain her freedom after bribing her way out, only to resume her illegal business.

His statement reads:

Dear @NafdacAgency, there’s a woman producing fake drinks in my community. She’s been doing this for well over 10 years. The police occasionally arrest her, but she always bribes her way out and returns home to continue her business. I’m willing to provide full details via DM.”

She operates just one street away from my house.”

Following his post, concerned Nigerians took to the comment section to express their thoughts and reactions.

See some reactions below:

@_youfoundalex: “There’s a man in my village that boldly told me that his wife in Onitsha, produced all the drinks they served guests during their wedding. From hero to stout to Fanta . Nah God dey help person for this country.”

@ben_1daEbiri: “I hope you used a burner account to make this tweet because if she somehow evades arrest she’ll most likely come for you.”

@Xtunting: “Way to go now… them plenty wey dey sell fake sardines for my side, I don too suffer for their hands.”

@bamiroken: “We are quick to shift the narrative of our real identity as a country to just a region. It’s wise to defend yourself only than defending a whole region. We Nigerians are bad people, We can do anything for money.”

@huntairdrop_: “Be careful, the woman may definitely have some of these men on her payroll, remain anonymous.”

@ewisdomdaily1: “Thanks comrade. Market leaders know the fake drugs/beverage dealers. Their neighbors know them too. The attitude of “minding my business” is what is k3eling Nigerians. Some pple will still defend her when she’s arrested, just like what that popular presidential candidate did.”
