Man claims foul play by the EFCC after an auctioned car disappears after ₦5.57 million is paid

Following the mysterious disappearance of a car he had successfully bought for N5,570,001 through their auction from their website, a Nigerian man has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, of foul play.

The man, who goes by @Chizytelu on social media, posted on X (formerly Twitter) to vent his frustration.

According to him, he paid N5,570,001 for a Mercedes Benz C300 with lot number ADC/BEN/AU/98 at an EFCC auction.

But after payment was made, the vehicle vanished from the EFCC’s online auction platform.

In his words: “I’ve just seen magic happen right before my eyes. 😅😅. A C300 with lot number ADC/BEN/AU/98 that I bid on and won at N5,570,001 just vanished from the auction site. @officialEFCC una well done. I called the auctioneer, and he straight up told me it’s out of his hands, that if I can’t find it on the website, I should contact EFCC.”

He also accused the EFCC of manipulating the auction log, claiming, “A bid I made with less than 3 minutes to 4 pm now reads 11:08 am.”

The post has since sparked reactions, with many concerned individuals flooding the comment section to share their thoughts and concerns.
