Man seeks advice as wife, earning ₦1.2M, demands ₦300K monthly allowance from him

In spite of the fact that he pays for all household expenses and the children’s tuition, a Nigerian man is seeking guidance after his wife, who makes 1.2 million Nigerian Naira every month, requested a monthly allowance of at least 300,000.

In a post on the well-known social media site X (formerly Twitter), the man described how he pays for everything, including the kids’ schooling and car fuel, and also buys his wife presents when they go out.

He did disclose, though, that his wife has demanded that he give her a minimum of ₦300,000 per month instead.

He wrote: “My wife earns ₦1.2 million per month. I foot almost all the bills in the house, pay for the kids’ school fees, fuel the cars, and buy her things she likes when we both go out. But right now, she’s insisting I should give her a monthly allowance of at least ₦300,000. Is it a necessity for me”

As the post went viral, a lot of people flocked to the comment section to express their thoughts.
