Man cries for help as bank contacted fraud unit, due to huge fund deposited in his account

A Nigerian man has called for help after a bank official contacted the fraud unit, claiming that the funds in his account were not legitimate.

He posted this on X (formerly Twitter) in a number of posts.

The man clarified that although he had received ad revenue in his account, it was locked upon deposit.

He was then allegedly told by the bank that the funds were fraudulent.

He went to the bank to make things clear and claim that the money was real, but when he got there, a staffer apparently called the fraud unit.

In his statement, he wrote: “I’ve just been arrested at @UBAGroup UBA Wuse Zone 2. My account was locked due to ad revenue I received, and when I went to the bank to explain that the money was legitimate, they called the fraud unit on me. This is unfair! Please help @TonyOElumelu.”

He later shared further details of his experience, adding: “The UBA policeman here is trying to forcefully take my phone. This is getting serious. Please help.”

He continued, “They said they are coming to take me, but I don’t know who is coming.”

As soon as the post went viral, worried people flocked to the comments section to express their opinions and offer support.

@BolanleCole: Probably there was a petition written against you in connection to an inflow of fund into your account and the security agency approached the court to get an order to lien your account and order the bank to arrest you immediately you step your feet into the bank. It is better you go and clear yourself bro.

@AjeboMezie: Ah what sort of embarrassment is this? Are these people so dvmb that they can’t make investigations than to arrest someone legitimately making money? Nigeria Kai 🤦‍♂️

@Inno4Chi: Same banks that refuse to flag accounts with sudden deposits of hundreds of millions belonging to Politically exposed individuals and their family members.

@abdullahayofel: If your funds are legitimate and you have evidence to support this, you have nothing to fear. It’s essential to recognize that banks are obligated to follow security agency directives.

Avoid blaming the bank instead, focus on resolving the issue with the relevant authorities.

@Officially_Kris: Stand your ground. U did nothing wrong
But If this thing is clout, e no go better for you
