No fewer than 140 political thugs have reportedly been arrested by Nigerian soldiers in the Nsukka local government area of Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria.
The soldiers providing security in Enugu for the Governorship and House of Assembly elections arrested the hoodlums allegedly deployed for today’s (Saturday’s) election by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which lost the presidential and Senatorial elections to the opposition Labour Party in the state.
A security source told SaharaReporters that some thugs who were armed with weapons including AK-47 rifles have confessed that they were deployed by a local government chairman, Hon Walter Ozioko.
