The Manchester United team, led by interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, easily defeated Leicester City 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. In the 17th minute of the match, Bruno Fernandes scored the first goal. Victor Kristiansen then gave up an own goal, and Alejandro Garnacho then added a third goal to complete the three-point victory.
In a 3-0 victory over Leicester City, Bruno Fernandes scored one goal and contributed to both of the others to mark his 250th Manchester United appearance.
In the days before Ruben Amorim took over, the United captain presented his qualifications to the new manager.
After an elegant flick by Amad Diallo to find space outside the box, Fernandes put United ahead with a goal in the 17th minute.
Amorim’s defensive issues remain, as goalie Andre Onana saved his back four after Wilfred Ndidi broke through the United defense.
Fernandes contributed to the second goal by bending down to head a cross from Noussair Mazraoui, and defender Victor Kristiansen’s deft move caused him to kneel the ball into his own net.
After a strong run by Fernandes, United took control of the second half, and substitute Alejandro Garnacho sealed the victory with a brilliant goal eight minutes from time.
Before United travels to Ipswich in two weeks, Amorim will now be in charge during the international break.
Leicester has work to do during the break before hosting Chelsea, and they are currently only two points above the bottom three.
