A Nigerian man says his boss fired him because he backed President Bola Tinubu in the midst of the country’s economic crisis.
He expressed his suspicion that his boss was going to fire him in a post that was posted on the social media site X (formerly Twitter).
Addressing his followers, he wrote:
“Dear Bola Tinubu Supporters🙏 The CEO of our company is fully Atikulated 👌 They’re trying to fire me from my job because I support Bola Tinubu. If it’s a fight they want, it’s a fight they will get. If you see this tweet, pray for Dawakiii.”
He posted an update shortly after, confirming that his support for Tinubu had resulted in his termination.
His statement read:
“Lost my job today because I support Bola Tinubu. I’ve been with the company for over 5.5 years, and this is one of the worst things that can happen to a person.
“Got called into work today at 11:30 am for a mandatory meeting where they fired me, with no notice🙏”
