The ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Nigerian Super Eagles and the Libyan Mediterranean Knights has been delisted by the Confederation of African Football.
The match was originally slated to begin at 8 p.m. in Libya following Friday’s first leg at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The Super Eagles beat the Mediterranean Knights by a lone goal in the dying minute of the game.
The Super Eagles players and officials, however, described their over 14-hour ordeal at the Libyan airport that forced them to return home, which sparked controversy for the return leg.
Following allegations of sabotage and threats of legal action against Nigeria by the Libya Football Federation, CAF announced that it had opened an investigation into the incident.
The African football body further updated games that would be played on Tuesday without including the Libya versus Nigeria game on its X handle.
