Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour donates N15 million to victims of the fire at Akere-Olodi Market (video)

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a Nigerian politician, has donated N15 million to the victims of a fire at a spare parts market in Akere Olodi, Apapa, Lagos state.

Remember that a mysterious fire destroyed goods worth millions of naira in the early hours of Wednesday, March 8?

There is speculation that it was an arson attack because a dead body was discovered at the scene, believed to have died from a gunshot wound despite the fact that he did not suffer any burn injuries.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos state, paid a visit to the scene only 24 hours after the tragic incident.

He also gave N15 million to traders whose goods were destroyed by the fire and promised to rebuild the market if elected governor.

@abulesowolagos: If you guys knows how politics work, you’ll alleged that this guy GRV can actually instigate that fire just to use it to campaign by sympathizing with the victims and blaming it on the opposition party.

@Phabulous37: What so ever we doing base on whoever we support pls let apply senses ..Igbo’s in Lagos should always remember you are in yorubaland and as far as Nigeria concerned Lagos state is the most peaceful state in Nigeria..you all come Lagos to make make money, make your money peacefully

@ayofeji459: Imagine having a governorship aspirant who his father has to speak for him in public 2 defend him that he’s yoruba and not otherwise.

This is a lesson to all who aspire 2 fight for a position in the future, dont ever take you origin and her language for granted. It will haunt u

@powerful198: Chinedu, how did you determine that the Akere market was destroyed by political opposition given that markets all around the country have been burning without any indication of a suspect or political opposition? You’ve stooped so low for taking a side in this.
