Two Beninese kidnappers were apprehended with a teenage girl near the Ogun border

Two men, both citizens of the Republic of Benin, were apprehended near the Idiroko border in Ogun State’s Ipokia Local Government Area.

Kazeem Moye (25 years) and Kokuyi Moye (20 years) were apprehended by So-Safe Corps operatives on Monday around 02:45am while attempting to elope with an underage female abductee through the border.

The So-Safe Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, said that the agency’s Special Patrol team on routine patrol at the Idiroko border area had suspected the suspects’ movement.

“They were stopped and interrogated, but they both failed to provide convincing answers,” Ganzallo said.

According to the Corps Commander, the female abductee, Okechukwu Felicia, 16, of Ajuwon Akute in Ifo Local Government Area, was also questioned, but she was unable to determine the true state of affairs.

Ganzallo stated that during the preliminary investigation, the corps discovered that the suspects had previously been declared wanted for a similar offense at the Akute Ajuwon divisional police headquarters.

“The suspects were apprehended while attempting to cross into the Republic of Benin at Iyana-Ago.

“The suspects, the victim, and a Bajaj motorcycle were turned over to police at the Ajuwon divisional headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution,” the statement said.
